The two-year Certificate in Ministry is broken down into six semester terms that can be completed at either the undergraduate or graduate level. Students who are accepted into the program can begin in September, January, or April. The program is built around the following three components:
Applied Ministry (Residency): Students are embedded in a single ministry context for two straight years, serving 15 hours/week in year one and 20 hours/week in year two. Applied Ministry provides students with hands-on experience, coaching and supervision, and leadership skills development.
Discipleship: This component ensures that our graduates understand what it means to be discipled in a structured way and that they have the ability to effectively disciple other people. Students are required to participate in a discipleship community in year one and lead a community in year two.
Content Courses: Students take one classroom-based course in each of the six terms. These develop foundational knowledge, critical thinking skills, and demonstrated capacity to apply ministry theory into real-life practice. Course lecture sessions take place on Zoom every Monday from 7:00-9:00pm EST.
